We’d like to thank Barry Donahoe from the Heyfield Lions Club for attending a special assembly to present the school with the Lions Club Public Speaking perpetual trophy. Poppy, the regional winner of the Year 3/4 competition in 2021, accepted the trophy on our behalf and it now sits proudly at the front entrance of the school. Our years 3-6 students are starting to work on their speeches for this year’s competition. We think that it is terrific that the students are given the opportunity to practice their public speaking as it promotes confidence and personal courage. Although it can be daunting, public speaking is an excellent life skill to have.
